Mr. Wittenberg is a Managing Director and Co-Founder
of Ion Partners. He advises growth companies, primarily in the technology
and telecom industries. Mr. Wittenberg is actively involved in both developing
new business for the firm as well as executing transactions.
Mr. Wittenberg is experienced in mergers
& acquisitions, private placements, IPOs, and restructuring advisory.
Mr. Wittenberg’s expertise includes software, telecom, and Internet/digital media.
He has completed transactions for emerging companies such as ReserveAmerica, Aramova, Printcafe Software, Metro Xmit, Indigo, and BookFinder.com as well as Fortune 500 clients such as Alltel, Computer Associates,
US West (acquired by Qwest), Vishay Intertechnology, and Pacific Telesis.
Prior to co-founding Ion Partners, Mr. Wittenberg
was a Senior Vice President in the Technology & Telecom Investment
Banking Group of KeyBanc Capital Markets. Prior to joining KeyBanc Capital Markets
in 2000, he was a Principal at Mediatech Capital Partners LLC, an investment
bank providing investment banking services to digital media and software
companies. Mr. Wittenberg began his investment banking career at
Lehman Brothers in 1992, where he was an Associate in the telecom
and technology groups.
Mr. Wittenberg earned his B.A. in Economics from
Amherst College. Mr. Wittenberg graduated from the Yale School of
Management with a Masters in Public and Private Management (M.P.P.M.),
focusing on Finance and Strategy. He has served on the
Evaluation Committee for the Yale SOM/Goldman Sachs Foundation Partnership
for Non-Profit Ventures.

Brooks A. Olbrys,

Mr. Olbrys is a Managing Director of Ion Partners. Mr. Olbrys has extensive mergers & acquisitions and corporate finance experience. He has advised numerous public and private clients on the financial, strategic, and legal aspects of mergers, acquisitions, joint-ventures, and divestitures. Mr. Olbrys has worked on transactions in a wide range of industries with a focus on technology and communications companies. Mr. Olbrys' clients have included Jones Intercable, Metapath Software International (MSI), BookFinder.com, Avnet, Vishay Intertechnology, Windward Capital, Charterhouse Group, Xerox, and Verizon. In addition, Mr. Olbrys has worked on public offerings and M&A transactions in Europe and Asia.
Prior to joining Ion Partners, Mr. Olbrys worked as an investment banker at Credit Suisse and at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette (DLJ). Before joining DLJ, Mr. Olbrys was a corporate attorney in the M&A Group at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom where he represented both public and private clients. Prior to graduate school, Mr. Olbrys worked as a business strategy consultant to Fortune 500 companies at Monitor Company.
Mr. Olbrys earned a B.A. in Economics with Distinction and an M.A. in International Policy Studies from Stanford University where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. In addition, Mr. Olbrys received an M.A. in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School at Tufts University, where he was a Ford Foundation Fellow, as well as a J.D. from the Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California, Berkeley where he was a member of the California Law Review.

Gardner F. MacDonald,

Mr. MacDonald is a Managing Director of Ion Partners. Mr. MacDonald has extensive experience in mergers & acquisitions and corporate finance including specialized structured financing transactions. He has advised numerous public and private clients on a wide range of financial matters representing over $7 billion in transaction value. His clients have included Cathay Pacific, Ford Motor Corporation, General Electric, Southern California Edison, Texaco, and Union Pacific. Mr. MacDonald is actively involved in both developing new business for the firm as well as executing transactions.
Prior to joining Ion Partners, Mr. MacDonald spent five years operating his own independent advisory firm where he specialized in mergers & acquisitions. Prior to that, he was a Senior Vice President at KeyBanc Capital Markets, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions. Mr. MacDonald was previously a banker at McManus & Miles, a boutique investment bank focused on the utility and transportation industries, as well as The Transportation Group (Paine Webber affiliate). He began his investment banking career in the mergers & acquisitions group at Morgan Stanley.
Mr. MacDonald earned a B.A. in Economics from Vassar College and an M.B.A. from the Darden School at the University of Virginia, where he was a Darden Scholar and Class of ’67 scholar.

Mario M. Martinez,

Mr. Martinez is a Managing Director of Ion Partners. He focuses on advisory and capital-raising opportunities in telecom, technology and other industries and is based in Los Angeles. Mr. Martinez is an experienced corporate advisor and operating executive who has worked with clients such as AT&T, Cisco, Ceon, and mBlox. Prior to joining Ion Partners, Mr. Martinez served as CEO for Intellectual Capital Associates in San Francisco, where he led a strategic advisory team that provided business consulting and technology solutions to the IP networking, communications and content distribution networks industries.
Mr. Martinez spent the previous 15 years as an operating executive in the telecom, wireless and broadband industry sectors, where he held senior roles at both large companies and emerging firms. At AT&T, he held senior positions in the Consumer State Services group and served as President, Consumer Markets in Florida. Previously, Mr. Martinez was a sales and business development executive at Sprint. Mr. Martinez also served in management roles at SkyTel, Computer Sciences Corporation, and U.S. Communications, one of the first MVNOs.
Mr. Martinez holds a B.A. in Business Administration and Finance from Georgia State University. He has served on the following boards: Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, St Thomas University (Florida), Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, and Florida Council of 100.
